Director General (KDA) Director General Asif Jan Siddiqui formally inaugurated the Independence Day celebrations by planting a sapling in the Civic Center's lawn.
On the instructions of Sindh Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Director General Karachi Development Authority Asif Jan Siddiqui formally kicked off the Independence Day celebrations by planting a sapling in the green space of the Civic Center. On this occasion, a cake was cut to mark Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day, while a tree plantation campaign was inaugurated. The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, after which saplings were planted in the green space of the Civic Center and special prayers were offered for the security, stability, development and prosperity of the country of Pakistan. Speaking on the occasion, Director General Karachi Development Authority Asif Jan Siddiqui said that Independence Day reminds us of the great sacrifices of our ancestors. We all have the responsibility to play our role for the development and prosperity of our homeland with unity, hard work and honesty so that Pakistan always remains strong, stable and prosperous. On this occasion, Director General KDA congratulated Muhammad Ashraf and said that like last year, this year too, KDA was the first to organize Independence Day celebrations. In his address, Patron-in-Chief of the People's Labor Union Muhammad Ashraf said that Independence Day celebrations will continue with full national spirit in schools, various site offices and other institutions under the management of KDA until August 14, 2026, where various events, tree plantation campaigns and various national activities including hoisting of the national flag will be organized by the People's Labor Union. The ceremony was attended by Secretary KDA Muhammad Arshad Khan, Senior Director TEB Jamil Ahmed, Director State and Enforcement Shakeel Ahmed Khan, Additional Director State Muhammad Arif, Deputy Secretary General Umar Farooq, Deputy Secretary Coordination Zafar Abbasi, People's Labor Union office bearers Zeeshan Qayyum, Aslan Qureshi, Hassan Naqvi, Arsalan Naqvi, Kamil Abbas, Muhammad Abbas, Zubair Farid and KDA employees participated in large numbers.
