A special operation was launched to eliminate encroachments in the Lines Area under the instructions of Director General Karachi Development Authority Zainul Abidin Ansari and under the supervision of Project Director Lines Area Muhammad Umar Farooq and Demolition Incharge Muhammad Ishtiaq. During the operation, encroachers established on roads, footpaths and green belts were instructed to immediately remove obstacles hindering the movement of citizens, voluntarily remove their encroachments and vacate government land, so that citizens can be facilitated in movement and law and order and cleanliness can be improved in the area. During the anti-encroachment operation, illegal occupation established on a plot was also eliminated. The concerned staff completed the operation effectively and took steps to recover the government land. According to KDA officials, the campaign to eliminate encroachments in the Lines Area will continue next week as well. In this regard, all concerned persons have been warned to immediately remove encroachments and illegally placed objects on roads, footpaths and green belts, otherwise strict action will be taken against the violators as per the law. The Karachi Development Authority is committed to fulfilling its responsibilities to provide better civic amenities to the citizens, protect government land and keep public passages free from encroachments. Citizens have also been appealed to cooperate with the agency in this campaign and refrain from using public places for personal use.
