A delegation representing KDA CBA met with Director General Karachi Development Authority Asif Jan Siddiqui at the Civic Center. The delegation discussed in detail the problems of the employees of the institution, salaries, pensions, staff shortage, and the financial affairs of the institution. The CBA delegation requested the DG KDA to give top priority to the payment of salaries and pensions of employees of grades one to fifteen. The delegation said that copies of the orders of transfer and posting of employees within the institution should also be sent to the CBA so that a better system of transparency and information can be established. The officials also discussed in detail the rehabilitation of the pipe factory. DG KDA Asif Jan Siddiqui said that a business plan is being prepared to reactivate the pipe factory so that it can become a permanent source of income for the institution. DG KDA said that the biggest challenge of the institution is low income, various plans are under consideration to solve it, including transparent auction of plots. During the meeting, the CBA delegation requested that the grant of Rs. 3 billion approved for payment of dues of retired employees be sent back to the concerned department. DG KDA informed the delegation that the summary for approval of this grant has been sent to the Sindh Local Government Minister and we are making every effort in this regard so that payments can be made as soon as possible. Finally, the CBA representatives requested to convene a meeting of the governing body to approve the Charter of Demand. He stressed that the long-pending charter should be approved and the legitimate demands of the employees should be met. Director General KDA Asif Jan Siddiqui assured the delegation of full cooperation and said that solving the problems of the employees of the institution and the practical restoration of KDA is our top priority. We all have to work together to bring the institution back to its past glory. During the meeting, Member Administration Shakeel Siddiqui, Secretary KDA Arshad Khan, Senior Director Land Jamil Ahmed, Director Land Murad Abbasi, Director IT Nasir Khan, Director Parks Haji Shakeel Ahmed Khan, Director Finance Sohail Basit, Director Admin Engineering Salmanullah Sharafat, Director TEB Kashif Siddiqui, Deputy Secretary Admin Asif Naeem, Deputy Secretary General Umar Farooq were present.
