Provincial Minister for Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah along with Director General KDA Asif Jan Siddiqui visited the Munawar Chowrangi Gulistan-e-Jauhar Underpass project.

Sindh Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah inspected the ongoing construction work of the underpass at Munawar Chowrangi, the central location of Gulistan-e-Jauhar. Director General Karachi Development Authority Asif Jan Siddiqui, Chief Engineer Abdul Samad Jamlani, Superintendent Engineer Muhammad Junaid and other concerned officers and staff were also present on the occasion. During the visit, the provincial minister was briefed about the current progress of the underpass, design, construction stages and possible completion period. He carefully reviewed the ongoing construction activities and issued various instructions on the spot. On this occasion, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said that the pace of work should be further accelerated so that the project can be completed before the stipulated time and the citizens get relief from traffic pressure. For the convenience of the public, alternative routes should be kept open as much as possible, traffic management should be improved and citizens should be informed in advance. No negligence in the construction quality of the project will be tolerated. He directed the concerned authorities to ensure high quality construction materials and engineering standards. On this occasion, Director General KDA Asif Jan Siddiqui told the provincial minister that the underpass project will bring significant improvement in the movement of citizens and thousands of people will get relief from traffic jams to a large extent every day. He assured that the project will be completed as soon as possible by utilizing all the resources. The provincial minister for local government expressed satisfaction over the overall progress of the project and said that the convenience of citizens and a better traffic system are among the top priorities of the Sindh government and such development projects are important steps towards the betterment of the city.
