Director General KDA Asif Jan Siddiqui visits Karimabad under-construction underpass, directs K-Electric to immediately transfer their poles and cables.

Director General Karachi Development Authority Asif Jan Siddiqui visited the construction works of the under-construction Karimabad Underpass. Member Administration KDA Shakeel Siddiqui, Superintending Engineer KDA Junaid Siddiqui, and K-Electric staff were present on the occasion. During the visit, the DG KDA was briefed that K-Electric’s poles and underground cables were obstructing the construction process, which was affecting the pace of the project. Talking to K-Electric officials on this situation, Director General KDA Asif Jan Siddiqui said that the completion of Karimabad Underpass is important for the citizens, so K-Electric should immediately shift its poles and cables to an alternative location and expedite practical steps to make them underground. K-Electric representatives assured the DG KDA that it would take about a month to complete all the steps of shifting poles and cables and undergrounding. On this, DG KDA Asif Jan Siddiqui said that the Karachi Development Authority is working day and night to provide modern, safe and quality travel facilities to the citizens. He said that K-Electric should complete all the work within the stipulated period of one month so that the Karimabad Underpass can be activated as soon as possible and the movement of citizens can be facilitated. Furthermore, DG KDA Asif Jan Siddiqui also visited various KDA schemes located in District Central and District West. He instructed the concerned officers to further improve the pace of ongoing development works in the schemes, prioritize the solution of urban problems and make the performance of the staff in the field effective. DG KDA said that the Karachi Development Authority will continue to take all possible steps for the improvement of the infrastructure of the city and the timely completion of ongoing projects.
